Stage 2 of Circle Line (between Marymount and Bartley) is opening in 28th May 2009. Stations that are open are Bartley, Serangoon, Lor Chuan, Bishan and Marymount.

SMO

Tomorrow is quite an important day for me. It is the SMO competition. I plan to get at least a bronze award for this year SMO. So, I have to work hard for it.

For today's SLP, it is quite fun although I am late for this program. I merely just dance and have fun listening to the music don't stop and hey now. The two music are quite nice and I like the music hey now especially because it has the essence of making me feel touched. So now, I have to resume my studying. Bye.

Holidays :)

Oh!!! Holidays have arrived. Finally, I can take a break and have a Kit kat. Just joking. Anyway, just recently, I have gone to the guitar and the harmonica concert on 29th of May 2005. The concert was not too bad except for one thing that happens on that day which a fierce lady keep venting her anger on our class because we booked the seats in one part of the auditorium. I feel amazed by her reactions to this trival matter to me. More shocked rather than awed. Sigh!!!! This causes Joanne to be very sad. I just ponder about the rationale of making a big fuss about this.

Upon reflecting on this incident, I feel that it is quite inconsiderate to sort of reserve seats in the auditorium but I think she should not have shouted and making a din here because she can indirectly hurt someone by her verbal abuse and tone. Besides, upon further analysing, on that day, I see many seats available at other parts of the auditorium and so she can sit on any available seats. It is not as if there are no seats available in the auditorium and we are still reserving the seats for our friends. That act to me is considered inconsiderate.

I went to Orchard with my family last Saturday. As usual, my cousins and I went to a bookstore to read some books. I read about self improvement books about making friends and I have jotted some points in the books.

Handling people
1. Don't condemn, complain or criticise others.
2. Give honest and sincere appreciation.
3. Arouse in the other person an eager want.

Ways to make people like you
1. Become genuinely interested in other people.
2. Smile
3. Remember that a person's name is the few words that that person likes best.
4. Be a good listener.

All these things seem familiar to me but yet I am not practising it. Sigh!!! I have to improve on his skill.

Holidays coming

It has been almost a month since I have updated my blog. My computer has been spoilt for two weeks and this is one of the reasons of why I have not been updating my blog for a month.

My term 2 common tests have already been over and the results in my opinion are fairly poor although I have some improvement in my general paper. Phew! What a relief. This implies that environment is really my niche topic in the gp essay as the teacher commented that the points in the essay are quite well supported.

Let me write in my blog about the problem of my computer. This time, the problem that I have initially faced when I switched on my computer is that one of the system files is corrupted and therefore, the windows cannot be loaded properly. Thus, I can only load the windows in safe mode. I attempt to load the windows using normal mode but my efforts are futile. Next, I try to reformat my hard disk and install windows in my harddisk so as to refresh the whole thing and to reinstall the corrupted file using my two recovery disks. However, at about 72% of the whole recovery process, a message comes out and says that the disk in drive N is not correct. The drive N here I think refers to the cd rom drive. I try to change the recovery disk 1 to recovery disk 2 but the message still pops out. I have no choice but to cancel the whole process. After cancelling the whole process and restarting the computer, a message comes out and says that the operating system is not found and press any keys to try again. I try of course and still that message comes out.
I ask my uncle about this excerbating problem and he commented that the harddisk of my computer is corrupted. In other words, the computer is spoilt and I have to buy a new one. Then, my uncle lists down the available choices that I have when buying computer. First, I can buy the whole computer package at around 900 dollars including the CPU, monitor, mouse, keyboard. Second, I can buy only the CPU at around 600 dollars but at a better performance. I choose the second choice since my monitor and the keyboard and the mouse are still working. So I went with my uncle to buy a CPU on Saturday 21st of May 2005 at Sim Lim Square. I bought the CPU at around $665. I felt that the price is quite worth it for 384 RAM and 80 Gb harddisk space. The computer processing speed is 2.4 GHz which is already not bad. However, there is no floppy drive and so I have to install the floppy drive by myself from the old computer to this new one.
I spend the whole day 24 hours just to install the hardware and the software into this new computer. It was a tiring task and it was only me to be blamed for not taking care of my computer properly. Once bitten, twice shy. I know now and taste the consequences of not protecting my computer well enough. The process is really tiring. On Saturday and Monday, I spend about 24 hours in total to settle with my computer. After going out with my uncle to Sim Lim Square, I learned quite a lot from him. Besides, he also treated me to a meal. That is quite nice of him. I attempt to learn more about computers as much as I can from him so that I am able to repair my computer or to upgrade my computer by myself.
On Saturday, I went for college day. It was a rather boring event and the only thing that I do there is to clap my two hands to generate loud clapping sounds for the prize winners. I think that it is not easy to be a prize winners of the college day as it takes utmost efforts and that the person must be really hardworking to score good grades. For that Saturday, I arrived to school in a nick of time and luckily my uncle gave me a lift to Toa Payoh MRT Station. If I have chosen to board bus 851, I would have been late for college day. Ya, I remember something, for that day, I think that the choir performance is really cool. They make use of rhymes, stomping on the ground and trying to make background music to create the sense of atmosphere required for the song. They are really pro because they are not only just singing the song. I feel that the rhymes and the stomping of the feet on the floor and the making of music just coordinates well to form a masterpiece.
On Sunday, I went for the Big Walk. Wow. When I board bus 70 from my house to National Stadium, almost half of the passengers in the bus were also going for the Big Walk. For that event, my younger brother and I went to the Big Walk and I could say that walking 10 kilometres is certainly not an easy task. The route is from National Stadium to Esplanade Drive and back to National Stadium. My brother and I walked for about 75% of the 10 kilometres and ran for the remaining 25 %. The Big Walk event had a high turnout of nearly 50000 people. When the Big Walk event commenced, my brother and I waited for about 3 minutes until we really walked at our walking speed. My whole body felt refreshed after the walk and I was very satisfied with myself that I was able to complete a 10 km walk. After the walk, my feet had some blisters and mud as the ground there was muddy.
On that same day in the evening, I went to the Esplanade to watch the band and co concert. The concert is quite successful and I feel that the music played by the band and the co is really good. One can see that the band and the co have practised really hard for this concert. Besides, what is impressive is one of the performances by the co where one student from 03/04 performed solo. The thing that impressed me is that he didn't read scripts when he was playing with his musical instrument. Furhtermore, on that day, I witnessed how people dressed themselves up to watch a show in the esplanade. Some of them dressed formally with nice clothes and pants and dresses. It was a fashion show to me on that day.

Service 168 is now one of my most frequent boarded service. It plies from Bedok to Woodlands via Tampines. The reason is that it is now fast to take this service to Woodlands rather than taking MRT. The time required to reach Woodlands from my house is around 30 - 40 minutes depending on the waiting times of the buses.

A new me

It has been almost three weeks since I have last blogged. These three weeks were filled with enriching experiences and very valuable lessons that I possibly could not learn in the classroom. First up is the Track and Field Meet 2005 in the 28th of April 2005. A few days before the actual meet, I have problems handling the recruitment of the participants involved in the March Pass as many students are not aware that they are in for March Pass. Perhaps, the House Captains just write down their names in the list of participants for the March Pass without informing them. Luckily, Mr.Alex Lee, our teacher has managed to help us avert this imminent and impending disaster. Luckily, the whole Track and Field Meet 2005 is a success and there are not much screw ups during the March Pass in the actual Track and Field Meet 2005. Everyone has laughter and fun at that time and of course many free drinks and free foods. This is one experience that I will probably never forget because this is the first time that I have organising this event and luckily it turns out to be successful. Through this thingy, I have witnessed my own flaws and my own weakness. Therefore, I shall strive to minimise my flaws and overcome my weakness and be a new me.
On the 30th of April 2005, I went out with my classmates to Alvin's church. That was quite a new experience for me because I had never attended a church and I had never known about what the atmosphere would be like. The songs that Alvin had sung were appealing to my ears. It was as though that a rock band was singing and the sounds produced there was simply terrific. Although I was not used to the fact that every sentence that they were singing were praising Jesus, I began to love the music and attempted to adapt to this new environment. The speech that Alvin and the youth leader have given is simply very convincing. They talked about opening up our hearts and trying out new things. In my mind, I was cogitating about what is my purpose of living in this earth where pollution already prevails and man are killing themselves. Til then, both of them are the keys to the treasure chest that has been locked for around 17 years. I realised what is the purpose of my life and there was one thing that was stemming me and that was my confidence. My low level of confidence was impeding me into directing myself towards that purpose of my life that I wish to have. I fear that I will take a risk because I have not attempted it yet. After going to the church, we went for a dinner and Alvin treated us to Swensens and I ate an ice cream.
Tests are around the corner as May approaches. I got 68% for my maths and I have this strong feeling that my love for maths has become more and more distant. I began to feel the struggle of the difficulty of grasping cerain concepts in certain chapters. I was feeling very down and weary after long hours of school. The burden that I was carrying everyday to school and back to home was simply too heavy for me. Luckily, there was this Labour Day on the 1st of May 2005 to provide me with a day of rest and a day to catch up. On this day, I went to Woodlands to accompany my friends for revisions and to do our homework. With friends, we all managed to study for 8 hours without rest. That was one miracle for me as I had never persevered for that long before.
As May approaches, I can feel the immense atmosphere of competitions approaching. SYFs and sports competitions have been on the topic in AJC as many students are chatting about the rigorous training schedules and their hardwork and utmost efforts put specially for their respective competitions.
Stopping here!!!!

Stress?

Recently, I have really experienced the might of stress. In one of the surveys that I have done about my personality, it says that I am a "perfectionist". After looking up the meaning of this word in the dictionary, Longman dictionary mentions that "someone who is not satisfied with anything unless it is completely perfect."I feel that this is really true as I always set high expectations of myself when doing things. However, for now, I am beginning to feel that things are getting out of the control. I have many problems hounding in my mind, Track and Field, Studies, Chess, Maths Olyampid. These are the three main problems in my mind.
I feel that I am beginning to grapple with my studies. I find difficulty in grasping certain concepts in content based subjects. I think I have to settle this problem by hook or by crook.
Another week has passed with intense pressure applied on my brain. I keep reflecting every night and day whether I have set the expectations of myself too high that I cannot cope or that I cannot achieve. There is one period that I am careless in doing things and I don't even know the causes of this. Careless is a weakness but cannot be utilised as an excuse. I have to eradicate and obliterate this weakness of mine. This will be a psychological battle with the careless virus within my mind. I know I can control it and I know I can deal with it by relaxing myself.

Optimistic future

Recently, there is this earthquake that struck Nias. Just now, I was just doing a mindmap of this article entitled "Situation in Nias is worse than expected." This roughly gives the idea that this earthquake of magnitude 8.7 on the Richtier scale has inflicted tremendous amount of damage, be it to the people and economy and buildings. Many people were left homeless as buildings turned into debris and wreckages within a night and refugees camps were set up. An abandoned school has been convertedinto a temporry hospitial to treat the injured . One can detect the strong putrid stench of the rotting bodies at the streets as the rescue teams attempt to scramble for survivors.
When I knew about this incident three days ago, I felt fortunate and lucky to be in Singapore. However, the tremors occurring in Singapore as a result of this earthquake has prompted many people to call the police. This makes me ruminate whether Singaporeans are vulnerable to natural disasters. It is just that for me, I have encountered few setbacks in the case of natural disasters. I feel myself being weak and I suddenly have this feeling of unease. However, as I read the newspaper article, I am inspired by the reactions of the locals there. The reaction from the locals from this earthquake are quite similar to the reaction from them during the tsunami incident. This is what inspired me. The time lapse between the tsunami incident and this earthquake is rather short and yet they are not mentally beaten. They remain optimistic to the future, thinking that hope always prevails.

For yesterday, the filming of the Service Learning Project also makes me feel a sense of belonging to the class. I always think that it is not a matter of saying but it is a matter of doing it because actions certainly speak louder than words. When the whole class play one of the energiser games entitled "United We Stand", everyone just puts in their utmost efforts to stand up together regardless of race, language or religion. Although there will be always problems and difficulties that we encounter that impede our road to success, with a tenacious attitude and an optimistic mind like the kids in Indonesia in the aftermath of the earthquake, nothing is implausible. The filming yesterday was a tremendous success. Initially, I am very nervous with the camera staring at me, scanning the whole class as we proceed to do our reflections for our Service Learning Project, this feeling has abated as the whole class play the energiser game. Time really flies and for me, I was not aware of the time until Benjamin announces the stop of the playing of the games and proceed to do our reflections. I look at the clock and I am amazed that half an hours have been utilised just to play this game. During the time when the whole class was playing the game, all of us just act naturally and there were no NGs. Wow, that's cool.

Traffic lights

Today I have an extraordinary experience to share. I am discussed at 1 pm today after the chemistry lectures since I have no lessons after 1 pm, so I have decided to go home early to do my assignments. During my journey home, at AMK Avenue 3, there is a minor traffic jam as the traffic lights are faulty. There are sounds of the honking horns by the cars on one part of the stretch of the road AMK Avenue 3 as impatient motorists keep pressing their horns and grumbling about the jam. The traffic warden is busily moving here and there just to act like a traffic light, to give the green light for the cars to move and to give the red light for the cars to stop. He has been very busy running here and there and using his hand signals to signal to the motorists of what to do to avoid an accident. This brings to me the idea of a traffic light. Although it may seem quite common and insignificant to many of us, without it or without traffic lights on the road, road systems will be in chaos. Really, I just feel that many times, we just take things for granted and that includes me too because we already have this thing. The value of the things that we all possess plunge although sometimes we ourselves do not know it. There are too many things that we possess and one can agrue that we cannot certainly spend all the time cherishing it and wasting time to take good care of it. Besides, our lives are very busy and in this contemporary world, time is money and time is running out fast. However, this traffic light incident has reminded me not to take things for granted. Although we are constantly reminded and nagged by our teachers, our elders, our parents and so on, we always forget all these golden advices. I really have to reflect on this.

Another week gone

Woot! Another week has gone after the long weekend with Good Friday a public holiday. So, during this whole week, on Thursday, our whole class stayed back to paint our home room. Hmm. The painting is only about 30 to 40 % done while the noticeboard is quite filled with photos. We stayed until about 6 pm until that Indian uncle shouted and yelled and scolded us to leave the classroom as he wants to lock it. What an unreasonable man. Just yesterday, I went to a buffet with my family and I had eaten 2 plates of fried rice with some veggies on it and some beancurds. I love the veggies there than other things for it is delicious and tasty. Just then, there was a jigsaw puzzle competition going on. I felt like participating this competition but my parents were reluctant to take part in this competition. Therefore, I was short of people to be able to participate in this competition. This competition requires four people to form one group to solve the jigsaw puzzle. Nevertheless, it was a fun filled day.

Termination of school holidays today :(

It has been quite a long time since I have last blogged. Same old phrase when I start blogging. However, in all these days, the events that I have been through are quite fruitful.
I have participated in the maths competition and it is very tough. I only know how to do 5 questions out of the 15 questions in the test paper.
Next area is the Track And Field Meet that I have signed up via Alpha List. I have become the in charge of the opening ceremony/ march past. Diana and I are the in charge of this march past and our job is to think of a idea of a formation in this March Past. Previously, we have thought of some designs and formations in the March Past but Mr. Lee mentions that these designs are quite complicated and sophisicated and they definitely require many rehearsals. What Mr. Lee wants is a simple and yet grand formation in the march past which has a significant meaning. So, Diana and I and our 2 helpers have to crack our brains to think of this March Past formation. I have thought of one formation while I am dreaming and I feel very satisfied with it because it is simple and it consists of two meanings and they are Track N Field and 21st Track N Field Finals. Finally, Mr. Lee has decided that the formation of the March Past is to form the five petals flower with a circle in the centre. The circle in the centre can be formed using the painted circle in the centre of the soccer field. So now, we have to think of how to form the five petals flowers with only 1 rehearsal.
Next area will be the future education choice in universities. I have checked out some of the univerisities both private and the public ones about their courses available to me. I like specific courses such as accountacy, mechanical engineering, mathematics. I have attended talks and seminars by the various universities such as NUS and SIC during these past few weeks. These talks are quite important to me so that I am more aware of the choices available to me and the prerequisites to enter the universities.
Next area will be the IT area. I recently bought the a portable harddisk in the IT Fair in Suntec City last week but til now, I have not found a new removable harddisk shown in m,y computer. Sigh!! I guess I have to ask my uncle about this thingy.
Next area will be today, the trip to the zoo. It is since many years down the road that I have revisited the zoo. I have visited the zoo for about three times and for today's trip to the zoo, I learn much more than the previous trips to the zoo when I was young. I think probably because of the fact that I like nature and animals and I want to know more about them and this is a rare chance to do that. Although today's trip to the zoo is certainly exhaustive, it is an eye opener to me. Singapore Zoological Gardens has totally revamped to keep up with the latest changes. It has definitely become a cleaner zoo as compared to the past with more high tech facilities in place and there are numerous species of animals found in the zoo itself. I begin to look back in the past when I have visited this same zoo. I ruminate the times that in the past trips to the zoo, I used to eat in the KFC when I was young with my brother and my auntie and cousins.
Next area will be the area in buses. I think I have become more involved in this forum during the school holidays when I am more free. I like the routes of the public buses in Singapore and I will continue to pursue this dream of memorising the landmarks in Singaprore.

Maths Competition tml

Long time I have ever blogged as I am very busy nowadys. Recently, I start to play a bit of games like Heroes 3 to relax my heart and my minds over the past few days since tests are already over. Today, I have physics spa and this spa is not a spa for me. It was more of a torture test for me. This morning, the physics spa tests my skills and the ability of me to swing the rubber bung in a horziontal circle and I of course could not do it. I attempted to swing the rubber bung but the rubber bung kept hitting my head. Today, there is a half day for the whole school and I of course went for a bus "spree". I pass by the ECP and I witness such a magnificant scenery and the tall buildings such as OCBC and Maybank. I also saw the durian shell (esplanade). This has really sort of destressed me and I really appreciate how wonderful nature is. Besides, while I was on my bus spree, one stranger talked to me along the way and he encouraged me to work hard for tomorrow maths competition(AIME). That also made my day.
Suddenly, I remember Saturday, the day when I was out for 12 hours in the streets. In the morning, I went to the Career Fair in Suntec City and I have gotton many books concerning about the courses available in Universities both public and the private ones. One of the officers there also explains to me in a very affable way about the career options available. I was interested in accountacy but I was confused about the difference of accountacy and banking and finances. After going the career fair, I was very enlightened and I am more clear in the direction that I should go.
That same day in the evening, I went to Marche with my classmates. It was a class outing in Orchard. That was the first time that I had ever eaten in that restaurant with gates everywhere and is using the card system to pay bills. The food there really cost a bomb. I was feeling quite uneasy about eating the food there. After eating in Marche restaurant, my classmates and I went to KTV. I sang a couple of songs with a lousy tone. It seemed that the essence of the songs is ruined in my hands at that time. Nevertheless, I had a wonderful day that day.

Tests are coming

It has been about two weeks since I have blogged. I have been busy lately and my little bro, as usual likes to hog the computer and staying up in long nights. Every day at around nine plus, I will be doing newspaper articles cutouts, drawing mindmaps. That is certainly a mundane task to do and that costs me one hour of my time. Besides, I am starting to lose track of my tutorials and I start to slack for the past few weeks. Am I losing stamina or will to fight this long battle this year for the final showdown in November? I can't certainly give up now. No matter what, I will certainly try my best. For the chemistry test which has happened two weeks ago, hmm, it was manageable. Besides, I had also taken the general paper test just last Monday. The topic in the paper was related to the things that I had happened during project work. That was some sort of an advantage to me as I could comprehend and understand more clearly with my background knowledge of the issue.
For next week, it will be Maths and Physics Test. I hope that I can score well in these two tests but in order to achieve something, one must always work hard first.

Chemistry Test coming

After the joyous Chinese New Year's celebrations, the idea of Chemistry soon appear in my mind. I have to work like a mugger like a nerd to try to squeeze all the information that I have learnt into my brain. I have almost studied all the chapters but I still need practise to apply the concepts that I have learnt.

2nd day of Chinese New Year

Gong Xi Fa Cai. It is now Chinese New Year. For this year Chinese New Year, it is the same as the other years Chinese New Year. We went around visiting relatives in other parts of Singapore. In the first day of the lunar calender, our family visited my grandma's house to wish my grandparents a happy and a joyous new year. At around early afternoon, we accompanied with our grandparents for a visit to their relatives. However, my little sis was not feeling well at that moment, my mum and my sis went home instead. That sort of dampened the spirit of CNY.
In the second day of the lunar calender, we also went around to visit the relatives from my mother's side. I feel very satisfying today as I have helped my mum to grind the corns and fry a dish which I am not aware of the name yet. I also attempt to learn a game called Da Lao 2 by observing my relatives playing with each other. However, there are lessons in school tomorrow. What a bummer.

Chinese New Year

Time has passed by quickly. Everywhere I go, I hear CNY Songs, singing here and singing there, singing Gong Xi Fa Cai. The Chinese New Year's atmosphere can be felt by almost every part of Singapore where there are lots of New Year decorations and the roads are adorned with beautiful festive lights.
Yesterday, I went out with my family to buy new year goodies at Hougnag Point. The amount that we have spent to buy those goodies is just short of 50 cents to a hundred dollars. The things that we have bought includes titbits, noodles, rice, ice cream and so on.
For today, I feel a sense of achievement because I clean the computer table and wipe all the dust on the monitor, Central Processing Unit and the Printer, and the Scanner. Cleaning may seem simple but actually it is hard work. I hope that New Year can come soon so that I can collect Hongbaos.

Sad day

My blood is boiling today. It starts out to be a bad day when Diana says I am selling fishes. Why? This is just simply because of the fact that I have not helped her to carry the dictionary to the classroom. I just wonder that whether or not if she has a pair of hands. If she has, why not she do it herself rather than me doing it? And besides, I have many things to carry such as my worksheet file and my bag and my dictionary.
After that, Diana later just talks about anything that crosses her mind. She is very straightforward in her remarks. She told Chin Kai and Hsueh Yu in a very angry tone about her starting a bad day waiting for a taxi for 20 minutes. That's all that she had waited, only 20 minutes. For me, I waited for a bus for half an hour. After that, I just keep mum and remain quiet. After that, during tutorial lessons, Diana just started to sprout nonsense by saying about Singapore and so on.
Time can really tell anything. Friends can become enemies in just a moment because of certain conflicts. Therefore, I always maintain a distance with friends. Today is certainly a bad day for me and I think that I won't want to waste time talking to this kind of person anymore.

Haven't blogged for 10 days

Wow, 10 days have passed in the blinking of an eye. I think these 10 days are quite enriching.

23rd of January 2005
A typical Sunday for me as my family including me went to my grandma's house for a visit.

24th of January 2005
A start of a new school day for me. I always hate Monday because Mondays are days when I have to carry my big and bulky bag with me all the way to my school Anderson Junior College. For today, I have set targets for my General Paper grades. Sigh!!! General Paper is a big headache. It seems so easy and yet I can't score well. It tests basically on analytical and thinking skills which is in lay man terms, common sense. Does that mean that I don't even possess common sense at all? Sigh!!!

25th of January 2005
Another typical school day for me. For today, I have a pe lesson on this day. I ran for 12 rounds successfully. Phew!!! Luckily, I did not give up in this run. A sense of satisfaction overwhelmed me after I have successfully finished the perilous run of 4.8 km round the track.

26th of January 2005
Another typical day for me except that on this day, I have chess. Chess is a CCA which helps me to enhance my planning skills as one has to predict what wll happen or the consequences of the moves that one has made. Chess is fundmentally a "destresser" for me. Yay. After chess, I went to Funan IT Mall but however the Canon Customer Care Service Centre was already closed. What a wasted trip.

27th of January 2005

Another typical school day for me. Nothing special has happened.

28th of January 2005

For this day, it was a very long day for me. I thought that today is quite a short day until I walked past the noticboards in the canteen and I saw two words. The two words are "Chess" and "Chinese". Next, then I knew that all JC2 students have to go for chess trainings today. What a notice at the eleventh hour. The chess training commences at half past four and ceases at 7pm. I initially intended to go Funan IT Mall to get Free Canon Ink and Photo Paper but it seems like I have to postpone the trip. What a bummer.

29th of January 2005

For this day, I accompany my mum and my little sister and my little brother to have a buffet in one of the restaurants at Orchard Road. The price is about ten dollars for each person. I just eat and eat and eat. I eat two bowls of rice, took some braised duck meat and eggs and taupok and lastly salty veggies. I also ate tau suanand two cups of milk tea. What a relaxing day for me. After having a sumptuous meal, we all went to my realatives' house. My cousins were playing Playstation Games. I remember one of the games which involves driving a car and stealing cars from people. lol. That was quite a funny game. The main character just drag the person out of the car and he himself just went into the car and drive off.

30th of January 2005

On this day, I went surfing with Diana in Sentosa. Surfing looks easy but it is very difficult. My hands get exhausted easily and I have to continue this swinging movement in order to move in this 300 metres surfing route. As my hands were slapping into the sea water, the water keep splashing and some of this water moleclules actually lands into my mouth. The first thing that crosses my mind is that the sea water is very salty. The salt concentration in the sea water is even higher than the veggies that my mother has always cooked. I also talk to Rick and we sort of gossip about Diana. lol. And Diana wants me to divulge the secret. However, my reply is the word, NN+1. Guess what is this word, the answer is NO!. lol

31st of January 2005

This day is a tiring day and long day but yet an enriching day for me. Why? Let me explain. In the morning, I have an rigorous exercise on my mind, training my mind to think and think and think. That's what Singapore wants- students to think critically. In the afternoon, I also have a rigorous exercise but for this time, the excerise is physically rather than mentally. That is also what Singapore wants, to have a healthy body and healthy minds. Sigh!! That's why AJC plans to have a Cross Country this Monday afternoon. For this Monday afternoon, the weather was good. I got myself all heated up to prepare for this long and perilous run to Mount ... Wrong towards the finishing point. I accompany Ben all the way from the starting point to the finishing point and I got the 288th position. Cool rite?? On that day, Shiqi, a person with hidden talents and looks demure and childish, actually can run. Never judge a book by its cover and never underestimate the depth of the water by just looking at the swimming pool. The timing that she got is 17 minutes which is the time that I require to run 2.4 km. lol. After the Cross Country Meet, the buses are jammed with AJC students. I had to wait for the seventh bus 156 in order to go home. The waiting time is approximately 45 minutes. For that whole night, I am pondering why Shiqi can suddenly run very fast. Not trying to say that she is lousy but she has certainly changed my way of doing at things. She has the motivation and of course stamina. For this Cross Country, what is important is the motivation, the determination to clinch the award. For me, apparently, I don't have much because my stomach starts to grumble a lot when I start to run long distances.

To Shiqi

Good memories of laughter and self proclaimation is always remembered and embedded in my mind as I start to wonder when this rumour starts. Thanks for everything and remember to stay happy :)

1st of Feburary 2005

Today marks the start of a new month. For today, after school, I rushed to Funan It Mall by train to get Canon Ink Cartidge and free photo papers. Phew!! I got them but I arrived late for my Alpha List Meeting. I think that I have to enrich myself further. My leadership qualities are still inferior as I still lack of confidence.

A day passed again...

On 22nd of January 2005, that is today, I went to Nanyang Technological University early in the morning at quarter to 7. It was a very long trip to there and the journey took about two hours. I fell asleep when I was on my way home. I went to NTU today for maths competition. As usual, the questions are very tough and they are those questions that require workings to be shown clearly unlike the multiple choice questions in the Singapore Mathematical Olyampid first round. Sigh!!! I only know how to do two of the questions. For the rest of the questions, I did not comprehend what the questions were talking about but never mind because it was over already. I just hope that I will be able to score good results but I doubt it.

7 days again

It is almost 7 days again since I last blog. Today is a public holiday. Yay. It is Hari Raya Haji. For the past few days, it went on as usual, going to school in the morning and mug until evening and went home at around 6 plus and watch tv in the night and locking myself in my bedroom, logging into MSN to chat with my friends.

Yesterday, 20th of January 2005, I feel that it is quite a very special day not because it is a holiday or it is my birthday, but because that day is the day that I have bought a new printer with more functions. I think that I have to learn to treasure and cherish this new printer and utilise it more often so that it will not get rusty. For the old printer, it looks quite new but a pity, it has been spoilt as I have not used it for too long. For this printer, the salesman at BEST Denki in Hougang Point recommended it for me because he says that it has the most functions and it is quite "cheap" although I feel that it is a bit too expensive. I spent all the time in yesterday's night reading the manuals and connecting the printer to my personal computer.

Today, 21st of January 2005, I went to Asian Civilisation Museum at 7 pm with Diana and Hsueh Yu. Today's trip was quite an enriching experience as I have learnt more in depth of the different various cultures in Asia. However, there are still many things that I have to learn. So work hard JJ. :). At around 9pm, we walked to Lau Pa Sa to eat some foods. I eat Ice Kachang as usual $1.50. The price is quite affordable with lots of ice and syrup on it. I reached home quite late at around 2315.

Long time never blog. It has been 7 days since I last blog.
On the 9th of January 2005, my family and I went to my grandma's house again. However, for this time, we went to another part of Toa Payoh to eat our breakfast. It was at blk 66 Toa Payoh Lorong 4. I ate pork porridge which taste hmm quite good actually.

On the 10th of January 2005, I had school. The day went as usual as I attended the lessons and mug in school. Nothing special happened on that day.

On 11th of January 2005, I still had school. For that day, I had a small test of physical fitness. Luckily, I managed to do six pull-ups as I am the weakest in doing pull-ups. Phew! Now, for that test, the weakest station that I am in is standing broad jump. I had jumped only a distance of 215cm. The passing mark for standing broad jump is 210cm. I have to train more on standing broad jump. Physical education lessons on that day is tiring and exhausting our chemical energy as after the test, the bunch of us boys had to undergo tough physical training which involves doing 3 sets of pull-ups and some couple of rounds on the track.

On 12th of January 2005, I still had school. However, on that afternoon, our school had a sort of a CCA Carnival which seems to be in a very mini scale as compared to a real carnival but nevertheless, the carnival is quite successful for the chessies. I am in chess club and my job now there is to entertain the JC1 students, to persuade and convince them that one won't regret in joining chess club as it is a "slacked" club. We also have trainings in chess just that our training is mainly to destress us and to kill time. It was really fun on that day.

On 13th of January 2005, I still had school. Time seems to pass by in the blinking of an eye. It is Thursday and that day went on as usual, with me mugging in canteen 2. However, I had intended to do a research about MCYS after school. However, the laser printer seems to be O to a power of 3. (out of order). Sigh!!! What can I do when Heaven is not on my side?

On 14th of January 2005, I still had school. Lessons are on as usual in the mroning. However, for that day, I mugged the longest in the afternoon after GP lessons. I mugged with some of my friends Diana, Hsueh Yu and so on in canteen 2. I mugged until 6 just to accompany Diana Chia to Asian Civilisation Museum to attend the briefing about being a volunteer in the museum. However, I felt that the committment is a lot and the time required of us is also a lot. To be a qualified tour guide, I had to undergo a rigorous training and have to do my research thoroughly. So, til now, I am still considering whether or not I want to become a volunteer.

On 15th of January 2005, I went to Chin Kai's house to do the MCYS thingy. Sigh!!! That took me a whole day just to get the things done properly. okok. Enough of blogging.

Off to Sengkang to research

Today, I just met an interesting old man in the bus while I am on my journey to Sengkang. He gave me a shock by a sudden pat on my shoulders. After that, he held both of his hands together and began to talk. I don't seem to understand or comprehend what he is talking about but through his expressions and his hands, he was signelling me to pray for the tsunami victims. What an interesting person that I have met on the bus. The impact of the tsunami has spread even in that bus that I have boarded. Hope that all the people are still as happy as ever despite the tsunami and pray to the gods or nature for peace.
