Tsunamis

Life has to go on despite hearing bad news of tsunamis ravaging and creating havoc on coastal areas near India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Thailand. The earth will continue to rotate from east to west. I express my deepest condolences to those people who have lost their kin or relatives. Indeed, Singapore is a safe place to live in and I suddenly feel very fortunate to live here. I don't have to fear that natural disasters will occur here. This Asia killer waves that was occurred in Dec 26 2004 had a very great impact on me compared to other natural disasters as newspaper reports had indicated that luckily for Singapore, Sumatra had helped to block the tsunamis from ravaging Singapore. I can't imagine if tsunamis sweep away the houses and buildings in Singapore.
Some things really cannot be underestimated. Water may seem harmless but this time, it had killed about 81k people.
Lastly, hope that everyone can remain jovial and jubilant despite the occurrance of tsunamis.

Off to Clarke Quay

I had chem peer tutoring programme for the past few days on the 27th and the 28th of Dec 2004 although I didn't know that I didn't need to come on the 27th of Dec 2004. It was quite bored as the tutees keep on sharing their experiences about hairstyles, handphones and so on. Some of them utilised the chem peer tutoring programme to do the chem holiday assignment.

27 Dec 2004 - After the chem peer tutoring, Diana, Chin Kai, Hsueh Yu and me went to revise some work at a Mac on the ground level of a HDB block. Wow. That is one place that I have not been there before so next time if I want to find a quiet place to study, that is it. At about 2pm, Diana and Hsueh Yu went home while Chin Kai and I went to AMK popular to search for some notes and CDs. Sigh!!! The maths textbooks are all wrapped up. I couldn't even browse through them. What a disappointment. Later, I went to Chin Kai's house to get some maths notes and homework. Boarding bus 86 from AMK to Sengkang to me was a long trip as I slept on the bus. After that, Chin Kai and me went to Hougnag Mall to photocopy the notes for me and to go shopping. One shop in Hougang while we are on our way to the bus stop going home sells interesting stuffs. The shop sells sodium bicarbonate powder, ammonia powder and other compounds that I have learnt in Chemistry. It sells the compounds that are available in chem laboratory. What an interesting shop.

28 Dec 2004- After the chem peer tutoring programme, Diana nad Chin Kai and me took bus 851 to town. Chin Kai was going to Bugis Junction while Diana and me went to North Bridge Road. Firstly, we visited the Indian restaurant again to taste Indian food. This time, I was much adapted to the taste of the Indian curry and other delicacies there. The foods taste more delicious to me now although my tongue still feel as if it was burning. After that, we went to Suntec City for shopping. Diana sure is a pro at shopping. She can walk long distances and shop for long hours. We look at some winter coats, hats and so on. After about 3 hours of shopping, we went to Milliena Square foodcourt to revise our work. The foodcourt looks deserted to me. While we were revising our work, water droplets drop from the sky and it started to rain cat and dogs. We had intended to go Clarke Quay for sightseeing so we waited until the rain had abated. At 6pm, we went to Clarke Quay and the things there could really burn holes in many of our wallets. We strolled around that area seeing the "wonderful and magnificient" Singapore River and the small riverboats in that area. By the way, one boat ride costs 60 dollars flat. That was very expensive. I can take public buses to tour the whole Singapore with this 60 dollars. At around 7pm, we went to eat satay there. One middle aged man apparently the boss there approaches us and asked us about the reasons why we are staying out in the night while taking our orders. Oh, we are going to view Clarke Quay magnificent night scenary. lol. While he was taking our oders, he said to us that don't look at the prices, just order. After eating the satay, we went for a stroll again. The place there seemed deserted although there were some tourists patronising some bars there. Diana took some photos of the magnificent scenary in Clarke Quay. Finally, at around 8pm, we were done with our sightseeing and we went home.

Sign language reunion dinner

I just had my dinner just now in Tampines Street 82 at Kampung Senang. The sign language team had a reunion there and the whole team performed on stage to some of the cancer patients there. One of the memorable experience there is that I am sort of forced to eat a blade of grass there. Hmmm. tastes funny. Maybe I am still not adapted to its taste. That is the first time that I have ever seen people eating grass. One of the volunteers said that eating this type of grass nourishes the body as it contains many vitmains and minerals that help to keep the body strong and healthy. Besides, the dinner was all organic veggies planted by the volunteers of Kampung Senang. Of course, the dinner tastes funny with blades of grasses and other raw veggies. It is some sort of a salad.
Nevertheless, good exp for me. :)

Changi Airport

Today is Christmas. For my family, we treat Christmas as another normal day. We seldom celebrate it. For today, my family and I went to Changi Airport for a visit rather than a tour to other countries. My aunt had decided to meet us in the airport staff canteen. When we reached there, we searched high and low of the correct route to go to the airport staff canteen. We climbed the stairs, took the escalator, walked about 800 metres to and fro to the other side in Terminal 2. In addition, we asked direction from the cleaners in the airport and finally, after about an hour, we finally found the place. That was a great adventure for me.

Today is also the day when I saw an aeroplane taking off in the runway with my naked eye. It was a very fascinating sight for me.

Relieved

I am relieved that my dad is fine. His eyes are recovering from that "incident". The pain had abated. Phew!!! I really hope that my dad is fine. For the past few days, I often went out with my friends.

On 22 of December 2004, I went out with Diana and Hsueh Yu at Bras Basah Complex to study and revise our holiday assignments. For maths and chem and physics, I had completed the holiday assignments with numerous questions left unanswered. I just went there to explain my concepts of some questions and to clarify their doubts of those questions that they felt puzzled about. After that, we went to Saint Andrew Cathedral for a visit. Diana became the "tour guide" and showed Hy and me about the architecture of this church. Besides, she also explained the differences of Catholic churches and Protestant churches and also Anglican Churches. She is very wise and knowledgable and she could keep talking about it. Then, I realised that actually one has to learn more about different aspects in life. Life is not about studying in schools and score good grades. Life seems to be more interesting to me now. After visiting, we went to Esplanade for a stroll and also to watch the Merlion, the projectile motion displayed by water spraying out of the Merlion's mouth. We just talked there for about an hour. Next, we went to an Indian restaurant to taste the Indian foods there. For me, I really spice. When I ate the Indian foods there, initially it was very delicious but later, spice dominated the tastebuds in my tongue. Sigh!!! I had to drink lots of water.

On 23rd of December 2004, I went out with my old friends to watch the movie "kungfu" in Plaza Singapura. Spent about $7.50 buying the movie ticket. In the beginning of the movie, it was quite humourous and I laughed quite a lot but at the ending part of the movie, fighting dominated the whole movie as Stephen Chew fought with another sort of a very skilled pugilist who was an old man.

On 24th of December 2004, I went out swimming with my old friends. I swam about 10 rounds in the swimming pool and now, I am feeling very exchausted and fatigue. So, zzzzzzzz.

Guilty

I really hate myself for being so careless. Just now, I was playing the computer while my little brother was applying the oil onto my father's back to abate the pain. After that, when my little brother started to apply the oil, some of the oil was accidentally poured out of the bottle and dripped onto the floor. Then, my father said to him "Be careful! You can put the oil on the table before applying oil on my back." As I am engrossed in playing the computer, I did not listen to this words. After that, my father wanted me to help to rub his back using that bottle of oil. When I started to rub his back after applying the oil on my hands, suddenly, my father shouted pain in his eyes and then to my horror, oil was dripping from his head onto the floor. Oh no!!! That was a grave mistake that I had made. I sincerely hope that everything is all right and nothing has gone wrong. It was my carelessness that had caused this thing to happen. And also, it was my poor organisation that has caused this because my table was filled with bulky files and many books. Of course, I was scolded by my mum for being so dumb and careless. I should have sealed the hole using my thumb. Sigh!!!! It was really my fault today but I have learnt a good lesson.

Hope that nothing goes wrong and everything is well. Hope that my dad can recover.

History of myself (1987-1995)

Since I have nothing to do now, I shall sort of write a blog about the history of myself.

After I was born out of my mother's womb in November 15 1987, I saw the first beam of light shining to my eyes. I was born in KK Hospitial at that time. My mum and dad was very happy that they have a male child. That day was really a good and happy day for everyone.

Under my mother and my father's care, I grew up. Of course, my grandparents and my uncles also doted me a lot. My family often went to Bendemeer Road to visit my grandparents once a week. My mum hired a nanny to take care of me because my dad and my mum are both working people. I just ran around my nanny's house since young and I seldom watched television unlike my little brother. My mother also told me that when I was in the past, I didn't like pacifier out of unknown reason. So, when I cried, my mum and my nanny had a hard time thinking of ways to pacify me. My uncles also liked to play with me. It was a very good time.

When I was in K2, my mother signed me up for the abacus class. I started to have an interest for abacus and maths. Ya, I was very appalled about how the abacus could be used to calculate things quickly. Soon, I picked up the skill of "playing" with abacus. Besides that, when I was in K2, and when I was in my grandparents' house, I would run to one corner to watch the stretch of busy road, not to watch the array of cars travelling at the busy Bendemeer Road, but to watch the buses passing by. I liked to watch public buses especially.

In Pri 1, I was in a school called Serangoon Garden South School in 1994. I felt very uneasy when I first stepped into the school. I learnt many things there like English, Maths and Chinese and Science. I boarded school bus to go to the school and to go back home from the school. I often talked to the driver and the auntie in the school bus about school. As usual, the auntie always told me to work very hard and so on. Besides, in Pri 1, I started to read Translink Guides when I found them in one of the cupboards in my grandparents' house. I started to read with interest. I soon learnt the routes of many bus numbers. By the way, in Pri 1, I went to have a checkup in IOH (now HPB). I was certified that I have colour blindness. Sigh!!! Thus, with colour blindness, one could not apply for these jobs related to electronics, chemist and so on.

In pri 2, I didn't remember much in this year just that, that was the year where I had completed the abacus course and I had a certificate.

Food Exhibition then BBQ

Wow, three days have passed in the blinking of an eye. Today is the 19th of December 2004 and I, Tan Jun Jian, is writing my blog again for today. For the past two days, I am slacking at home doing homework and playing games. The days at home are becoming sian for me today. However, I continue to train my rs character for fun. :) Finally, after some knocking and cracking of my brain and trying very hard to energise my brain cells, I have completed my maths and my chemistry. For today, wow, it is a very good day for me. Today is the 19th of December 2004. Not a bad day. Maybe I should buy the number 1219 or 1912 in 4D. Lol. I actually hate 4D because it tests on probability.

Nvm. In the morning, or rather late morning at around 11 am, my family including me of course, went to Suntec City to watch the food exhibition in exhibition hall 404. When we reached the place Suntec City, we couldn't find the exhibition halls. At that time, we were in tower 4. Sigh!! We had to walk around the place before we could find the exhibition hall 404.

The foods there are very difficult to describe in words but there are only three words that can best describe the foods there, "Unique and Delicious". I ate many foods that I had not eaten before like for example, hot dog wafer and some pastries and also shark fin soup which costs only a buck and so on. I kept on eating there and I also drank a cup of coffee which costs only 20 cents. Wow, that is the cheapest coffee that I have ever known.
After trying out the foods in exhibition hall 404, we went to Carrefour to play some X-Box games. Normally, it was my cousins who played those games as my littlebrother and I had absolutely no experience in playing those games using joysticks. My eldest cousin called Yan Hao, played Mario. The game is about a character called Mario who sprays water everywhere to clean the sludge in the city which are sprayed by "evil" plants. In order to win, Mario has to complete numerous quests and so on and of course obliterate some plants to clean off the filthy sludge. We stayed there for about one hour. Sigh!! Yan Hao just missed a step in completing the third level of the game that he was playing. But nvm, failure is a stepping stone to success. He could play this game again next time. Hope that he could complete the third level.
After that, we visited the library to read some books as usual. I read some books for a couple of minutes and I started to lose my concentration in reading some books.
Next, it was about time to go at around half past three in the afternoon. My dad fetched me to Toa Payoh MRT Station for BBQ in the evening. I arrived there at around 4 plus. So, I went to Popular to read some books again. At 5pm, I saw some of the 28 people and Diana, me and Joanne went to buy some drinks and wire gauze and fire starter and ice for the BBQ. Can't find the wire guaze and the fire starter anywhere in the Fairprice supermarket. I went to the 1st storey and then up to the second storey and next back to the 1st storey to find wire gauze and fire starter. Seek Fong, the pro auntie, scanned through the supermarket and found those two items. After that, about half of the 28 people walked to Diana's house. It was a very big house, about twice as large as mine, with a rooftop to see the magnificent scenery. Our class had our BBQ and
most of the foods were sort of blackened by some unknown substance created by Nature. I guess I have to drink lots of water after that.
However, today is a very sort of unlucky day for Alvin who is "forced" to take a bath. The girls were shouting with awe and seemed attracted to him lol. Luckily for me, I was not the victim today.
Wow, today is surely a tired day for me. I reached home at about 11pm.
That's all folks!!!

Sigh!!! My cousin is living in my home.

As the title, my cousin has come to my home this morning to play with my little sister. For me, I think that she is a bit rowdy and very hyperactive. She has been running in my home this afternoon. In the morning, I accompanied with my mother and my little sister and my little cousin to the park to play the playground. When I saw the swings, that reminisced the happy memories of my past. In the past, I liked to play the swings as I liked the motion of going up and coming down very rapidly. Now, I am a 17 years old boy and thus I am not suitable to sit on the swings. Hehe. After that, my home became chaotic, as my little cousin was...... I think I have to tolerate her for another day. Never mind, I can just do my maths to kill the time.

1000 AD

This morning, I played 1000 AD and I just conquered some land from others. Land is used for construction of buildings. However, the land that I had conquered this morning had been conquered by one of the online players just now. Besides that, I also received a new message from Golgothika (299). He or she (because I don't know the gender of this person) is one of the person or people that I had attacked and I also had annexed some of his or her lands. So, this guy Golgothika was probably very angry and he or she gave me this wonderful message.

"ok. so hope yall feel special not yall buch of dicks. And cunt (23). Imm giving all my shit to another alliance. Forfeiting the games because of ****ed up hypocrit sons (and Daughters) of ***** ass hoes such as your selves who cant even follow your own rulles. I wash my hands of this shit because sportsmanship is apparently not an issue with larger alliances of cowards such as yourselfs, who can hold theier own one on one, but feel compelled to attack empires who dont even have an alliance. I pity yellow bellies such as your selfs. NOTE: I broke only one "rule" and the consequences of my action are not even worth wasting my time on a "game" such as this If I have to play with cheater such as yourselves. Feel free to stel the rest of my shit like the pack of coward hyeinas you are. Thanks for ruining this for me. It was SUPPOSED to be a game, you know. Farewell."

When I had read this message, I had some mixed feelings. This message is quite long and full of sarcastic comments. I felt angry and insulted and so on and also disappointed that he liked to use this word in the message(Sugar Honey Ice Tea).
So I decided to reply him with my message.

"First, don’t be a racist and insult other races especially to the Chinese (yellow bellies) because that is totally not cool. Second, life is full of competition and it is normal for people like me the coward to act like that to achieve my aims. The strongest person will rule the world. Besides, as you have said, it is just a game only, wins and loses have nothing to do in reality life. Third, if you don’t want to play this game, you don’t have to tell me as I don’t care whether you want to play this game or not. Fourth, about sportsmanship, although I initially value sportsmanship and like peace, ever since I have gone out of protection, I don’t see any sportsmanship in this game anymore so I decide to just ignore sportsmanship. Better don’t use the word (Sugar Honey Ice Tea) too much unless you like to eat that."

Life is just full of competition. In that game 1000 AD, this has become more apparent. I like this game because the winners will be those that have tactics and strategies and also determination to withstand any problems such as attacks from stronger players.

Slacked days

Yesterday was a slacked day for me since I am now writing a blog after midnight. Ever since after the sign language performance has ended, I was staying at home and feeling very bored. At home, my little brother was hugging the computer for more than 10 hours daily. Time is very precious so for this 10 hours, I utilised it to do my homework. In the afternoon, I accompanied my mother and my little sister to go to Ang Mo Kio. We had some sight-seeing there to view the beautiful and magnificent scenary there. (construction sites) I play some couple of games for about 1 hour after my little brother was watching television. After that, just now, I was feeling very bored so I played online Othello with one of my online mates. I play three matches with him. I lost the first match but I won the second and the third match. I liked especially the third match as I had to make a very difficult decisions. For the third match, what happened was that my online mate and I started playing othello as usual. I was using the black counters and he was using the white counters. As usual, we played til a point that in the othello board, there were many white counters while there were only a few black counters. Most of the sides were occupied by the white counters. At that time, I had only 2 moves left. I pondered and stumped for a while and my heart started to work harder to pump more O2 to my brain. Suddenly, I saw one loophole and hehe, I had made a move. After that, he made a move that was totally unexpected and at this point in time, I also only had 2 moves left. The first move is quite safe as that move involved taking a corner. However, if I made this decision to annex that corner, he would do the same to me and I might lose. For the second move, I put a counter at the adjacent of the corner. That was a more risky move as if anything went wrong, game over. So, I pondered again. Suddenly, I remembered the Singapore Government urging more people to take risks, to taste what failure is like and to learn from their failures. So, I had decided to make the second move. Luckily for me, I won that match 53-11 for black counters to white counters. What an enriching day for me.

Swimming

Today is quite a tiring day. I slept on the bus in the afternoon while on my way home from Bishan. For today, I had swimming at 11 am with Kun Jian at Hougang Swimming Complex. I swam about 6 laps and my legs and my hands started to cramp. This is probably due to the fact that I had not swum for a long time. I think I have not stepped into a swimming pool to swim for about a couple of months. After swimming, Kun Jian and I went to Bishan Junction 8. We met Jun Ming at the bus stop near blk 101. The purpose of going there is to shop for bags and clothes. I was window shopping while Kun Jian and Jun Ming bought clothes and a bag. We almost roamed the whole shopping mall. That's all for today. I am tired to write blog now. Good night and have sweet dreams.

Today's blog

Sigh!! Time really can fly to the sky. Now, it is already the 11th of December 2004. Three more weeks and the sch will be reopened. The reopening of school signals that I cannot play anymore. Yesterday, I stayed at home all day, watching television and playing computer games all day. What a slacked day yesterday.

For the day before, I intended to go Ang Mo Kio to buy some stationeries but my mother and my little sister wanted to accompany me there for a stroll. When we were about to go there, my aunt called and asked us whether we wanted to go Orchard Road for shopping. I was the one that said go there lah since my aunt also intended to go there. We changed our mind to go Ang Mo Kio and go Orchard Road instead. As usual, we meet at the waterfall at Ngee Ann City. Later, we had lunch at a resturant. It costs about ninety nine dollars. My mum's wallet had a big hole now lol. After having lunch, we went to the library to browse the books. For this time, I did not fall asleep when I was reading the books because I was reading a book of about body language. The book was very interesting as it told me that when a person is talking to you, you can tell whether he is lying to you or not and the different body languges that he is displaying to you. For example, if one leans forward during lectures and sit up very straight, this shows that he is very interested in the lectures. If one uses his arms as a support for his head on the table, this shows that he feels bored. I am still trying to learn the body language displayed by man. It is really interesting.

Slacked!!!

Well, now it is already past midnight. I was slacked for this whole day. I did a little bit of holiday homework and finally finished the topic on reaction kinetics. For maths, I had not progressed much as compared to yesterday as I was stuck on a question. For physics, I had not done anything. Oh no. I think that I have to work on my physics. For gp, I had only done one newspaper article with mindmap. I had not started on my two essays yet. I also had not found research regarding the information required to write the two essays. Sigh!!! I still have a lot of homework. Time certainly flies and one day has passed. Now, this is already the second week of december. Two more weeks and the school will be reopened again to students and I will be mugging again. Sigh!!! My grandfather was hospitialised just now because he had a stomachache. We suspected that he ate yesterday's food and thus resulted to this stomachache. He is currently now at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. I am still feeling a bit worried for him.

Going out the whole day.

Woot, I have not blogged for two days. For the day before, I took a nap after the end of the sign language course. The CIP hours given are 36 hours. Quite a lot. I do a couple of maths questions. Finished Trigo questions.
For yesterday, I had gone to my aunt's house to visit her and my cousins. At htere, I did my maths questions. I had finished area and trapezium rule and about to finish maclaurin series. Woot. There were still a couple of maths questions to go. In the afternoon, my cousins, myy little bro and I watched the movie "Van Helsing". This movie is about a person Van Helsing whose mission is to kill Dracula, the vampire. Dracula, a vampire born in 1422 lived for about 400 years and his powers were formidable. He had been trying to breed more vampires in the land by conducting experiments. Many experiments were failed due to some mishaps and nevertheless, he persisted in it. The vampires fed on human's blood and thus were a threat to humans. Van Helsing, a guy who wanted to know more about his past, embarked on a journey with his companions, Diana and another smart and intelligent guy. The vampires were immune to weapons and they disintegrate when they came into contact with holy things. Besides, they were also afraid of the sun. Later, in the movie, it became a battle between a werewolf and a vampire. The show was quite humorous and sometimes like to shock people at certain scenes with sound and visual effects. After watching the movie for about three hours, I went on to play gameboy, helping Germaine to train her pokemon monsters. I helped her to train her charmelon to lvl 33 learning slash attack. Then, I also helped her to win the gym in Cerculean City. Woot. Next, I had my dinner. The dinner tasted good and it was quite sumptuous. After that, we went home. Then after that, my computer kept having problems and lagging so my brother was very fed up and decided to let me write my blog. lol. :)

End of sign language performance :(

Today marks the end of the sign language performance. Time just flies. Watching how the disabled perform on the stage, I really have a lot of thoughts running in my mind about how they manage to overcome the obstacles and how we normal people can be like them, resilient and hardworking. After all these things, it is now back to revising schoolwork for next year A levels examinations next year. Sigh!!! Studies again. I have to mug again at home for the next few days. However, in my mind, I have sweet memories of Service Learning Project and the Disabled Performance. By the way, the background music for the various dances performed by the disabled were very nice.

Sign Langauge Performance

Yesterday, I had gone for a sign language performance. That was the first time that I had entered the backstage in Kallang Theatre. Yesterday was also the day when I could see all the backstage works and lightings on the stage. That was very fascinating. Initially, I was very nervous when it was my turn to perform but when the curtain was pulled up, I could not see the audience as it was dark out there and besides, the many bright lights were shining at me from the side. I just concentrated on performing although there were a bit glitches here and there. After the performance, I felt so relieved. I think for today's performance, I will not feel nervous anymore.

Saturday's sign language performance

Phew!!! Yesterday, I did not sleep on the bus when I was taking bus 70 back home. For the day before yesterday, I slept on bus 70 while I was on my way home. Time flies when I slept on the bus and when I woke up, the bus had reached hougang area. The bus had already passed the bus stop which I had intended to alight. So, I had to walk back home. But luckily, I did not have to do that yesterday.
For yesterday's sign language performance, there were still a bit of glitches here and there but overall, for the sign language performance, the whole thing was quite good as commented by xiaofen liao shi. Phew!!!
I felt so relieved after hearing her good comments about the performance. Time really passes by in the blinking of an eye. Today is the last day of the sign language performance. Today marks the end of me working with ching an chun. I wished to express my gratitude to my dance teacher and my sign language teacher which had made a lot of efforts to prepare for the performance. I had also learnt some sign language for some sentences like mum and dad and so on. Besides, when I had attended this programme, I had witnessed with my naked eye, how the disabled seemed to perform as good as the normal and ordinary people. When they were up on the stage yesterday, they performed very well and nice. That really gave me the idea that disabled don't mean that they are unable.

Disabled Doesn't Mean Unable

Nervous

For the night, I had my sign language lesson. It ended at 10pm. For today, it was a bit special as there were many Chinese Nationals already at the venue to join the sign language team for the dinner. They also performed a sign language performance of a song Tong Yi Shou Ge. Besides, I also noticed that they communicated among themselves using sign language just like we speak a language to ourselves. They were all actually special in their own ways. I believe that nature is always fair to everyone.

Slacked Day

Yesterday was a slacked day for me. I stayed at home all day, playing computer and doing maths.
Today, in the morning, my mother, my little brother and I went to my little brother's secondary school to buy his secondary 2 books. The queue there was quite long and we had to wait for about half an hour there. These two days were quite slacked for me but I can use these two days as a break and enjoy my real holidays.

Busy day today

Today is a busy day for me. In the morning, I packed my bag to prepare for the shopping spree later in the day and also to prepare for my sign language lessons in the evening. After that, I slacked a little bit and decided to play disciples II for about an hour. Then at about 11 plus in the morning, my mother and my little brother and sister and I of course went to Orchard Road Ngee Ann City for shopping. On our journey to the bus stop, we missed two buses which we had intended to board. So we had to wait for the next bus to arrive. We met up with my aunt and my cousins at the fountain in Ngee Ann City and we went for lunch in one of the many foodcourts there. After that at about 1 plus in the afternoon, my cousins, my little brother and I went to the library to enrich ourselves while the others went for shopping around Orchard Road. We stayed in the library til about 5 plus in the evening. During this period of time, I had read some books about self enrichment and some storybooks. After about three hours in the library, I was becoming bored and sleepy and so I decided to play gameboy instead to sort of wake me up before I fell asleep in the library. I helped one of my cousins train his dragon for 2 levels I tink. Next, we met up with my aunt again and had an early dinner. At about 6 plus in the evening, I went to Chang Clan General association for my sign language lessons. For today's sign language lesson, this lesson was quite enjoyable and time passed quite fast. At about 9 in the night, I went home. However, the buses were crowded and so I had to wait for quite a long time to board up the bus and reach home. Finally, reach home at half past ten.

Disciples II

Today, I have found a new and brillant strategy for the undead in disciples II. I am feeling very happy about this. Let me tell u about my new strategy for the undead. (for disciples II players only) Undead consists of many types of creatures. Some of them can reach 6 targets while others can only reach one target and some of them can only reach adjacent units while others can reach any units. For the undead, if you wanna train your army quickly, then this strategy is very good for u. First, u need to have a hero, a fighter, and a initiate or any other troops in your army but most importantly, u must have an initiate in your army. Next, train your initiate to wraith through fighting monsters or training camps. Then use your wraith's ability which is immune to weapons to a good use. Put your wraiths in the frontline when you are fighting an army or monsters that consists of monsters that are weapon-based attacks and they can only reach adjacent units. This strategy is cool, isn't it?
I had sign language lessons just now. It ended at around 9pm. Sadly to say, the number of people partipating the course is diminishing and now, the team had to do some restructuring due to the fewer number of people in the team. Therefore, I had to practise all the things again as my positions were changed. I will work hard and perform my best. That's all for today. Gd nite.

1 day over

Today's morning starts out with sign language lessons at Chang Clan General Association. Aiyo!! This caused my right knee to hurt. I was still practising the movements with an umbrella. This morning, my coach commented me that I seldom used an umbrella and when raining, I didn't use an umbrella at all. That coach was spot on and she just said that my way of carrying an umbrella was very wierd. lol. Being suaned by my coach.
After the sign language lessons, one of the people there taught me some maths games which were very interesting indeed. I could research more about them in December when I have more time. However, all those came too late as Service Learning Project was already over as I could use those games that I had learnt this morning in the Service Learning Project. For now, I am doing my maths and I hope to finish trigo by today.

Sign Language Lessons

For today, I was feeling a bit giddy although I still went for sign language lessons. I had been transferred from the sign language team to the umbrella team. So, I had to learn how to move carrying the umbrella. For me, that was physical training for me as in the starting position, I had to squat down with my left leg in front of my right leg and my right leg had to kneel down. That hurt my right leg and til now, I still can feel pain in my right leg. The Service Learning Project was a project that had caused me to become sick as I might have overworked. Now, for this blog, I shall write my comments of the kids that I have interacted during Service Learning Project in CDAC.

Fu Kang - One of the guys that I like most as he is very obedient and keen to learn and try out new things. Besides, he also has leadership qualities in him. Furthermore, he is willing to sacrifice for others. That is what I like best.

Nicholas - He is quite hyperactive and likes to play computer games and animate the characters in the computer games. He is a straightforward person who does not keep any comments to himself. He is quite aggressive but I understand that because of the games that he has encountered like Red Faction which is about fighting evil. That's why on the second day of SLP, he had a fight with the naughty boy Zhi Sheng. He definitely likes to play especially soccer and also me as his "horse". lol. He is quite keen to learn and try out new things.

Jung Hao - He likes being a leader to lead others and give commands. He likes to learn new things especially games. He also likes to play and run around and he likes to win. However, because he likes winning too much that he cannot accept loss or failure. One advice to him is that failure is a stepping stone to success. Learn from your mistakes and you will succeed. Initially, he is quite afraid to hold the hands of the opposite gender but gradually, he is quite okay with it.

Jung Yong - A shy guy and likes to matchmake between me and shiqi. Sigh!! He is quite cute and obedient except that he does not like to mix with the girls as he feels disgusted to hold the girls' hands.

Amanda and Esther - These two are siblings and they are quite well behaved. Both of them are quite shy in nature and they are willing to learn new things.

Felica - A cute girl who is keen in learning new things. I hear a rumour in my group that Jung Hao likes her or sumthing. Rumours always spread fast.

Si Ying - A very helpful girl who likes to help others and she likes to read jokes books. Keen to learn new things.

Yu Fang - A quiet girl but is willing to learn new things and participate in the activities.

Sharmine - Also a very helpful girl and keen to learn new things. She also tries to work with Zhi Sheng for the Don't Stop Dance but Zhi Sheng that guy runs around and he disappears for the dance.

Yee Hong - A shy and cute girl which likes to talk to Katie. Maybe girls can confide well to each other.

Zhi Sheng - A hyperactive boy who likes to run around in the CDAC. However, he does not want to cooperate and takes part in any of the activities organised by our class and instead he gets into a fight with Nicholas. Sigh!!! I think more days are needed to change him. Furthermore, he likes to talk a lot but his words make no sense. He likes to pray to the gods but I doubt he knows any of the gods that he is praying. However, he likes to play soccer.

That's all for today. It is going to be midnight. zzzzzzzzzz

Slight Fever today

I had a severe sore throat which resulted to a slight fever this whole morning and afternoon. My mum said that I had overworked over the past few days but I think that I was quite slacked during slp. Nevertheless, I think that I can recover by tomorrow after I have taken the fever pills after dinner time.
For today, nothing much happened. I stayed home all day long. I sat down and reflected on my past few months in AJC and I had discovered that ever since I had stepped in AJC after March, everything that I had partipated was always girls the majority and boys the minority. For example, I stepped into this class 28/04 in March 2004 and discovered that this class had a girl to boy ratio of 3:1. Sigh!! Next is the sign language that I have partipated recently. I am the only boy attending the sign language course. However, this had allowed me to learn some learning points. I had learnt to interact more with girls or women because when I was in Xinmin Secondary School, I seldom interacted with girls as I found them childish and besides that, I always felt that their mindsets were different than the boys. When I was in 28/04, after I had interacted with the girls there for a few months, I found out that actually most girls were quite nice and matured in their own ways. So, thx 28/04 for allowing me to learn this new and valuable point.

Reflections On Third Day

Today is the last day of Service Learning Project. I feel happy and sad at the same time. Quite contradicting rite?? I feel happy because I don't have to be so tired again and of course, I can play disciples II again, playing my undead campaign. However, I am also feeling sad because I won't be seeing the cute and adorable kids running around. I will certainly miss them a lot. Today marked the end of slp. Sigh!!!. Zhi Sheng that boy was still very naughty today. He kept using vulgar language and for me, I could not stand people using such language. Furthermore, he likes to talk a lot but his words make no sense. He liked to pray to the gods but it seemed that he was playing to the gods (good for dogs). lol. So, I kept scolding him and raising my voices on him. I attempted to pour vinegar on him but apparently, it was of no use to him. For Nick, he was quite well-behaved and he actually listened to my words that I had said when I had a personal talk with him yesterday except that he was a very straightforward person so he would not keep any comments to himself and he was very hyperactive.
After slp, I went out with my classmates to suntec city. I think that was the first time that I had arrived late at night in this year 2004. I reached home at about half past ten and had my late dinner. Yesterday, I had a severe sore throat and that was bothering me. I think I will get a fever tomorrow. Wish me good luck.

Reflections Of Second Day

Today, I had sort of successfully settled the disputes between Nicholas and Zhi Sheng. When they came, Nicholas was very hyperactive while Zhi Sheng changed for the better as compared to yesterday. I had to act according to their characteristics. I had to be more flexible to think of new and creative solutions to solve new and more challenging problem. I had learnt not to give up when new and difficult problems arise. I think that being a group in charge was definitely not an easy job especially when kids liked to run about. I was very worried about their safety especially. Because of SLP, I had to reach home late and had late dinner. Time just flew very fast during these three days because I was very busy and tired.

Reflections On first day

I have learnt quite a lot today. Firstly, I have learnt new solutions of handling naughty kids. For today, I feel that the most problematic thing is the naughty kids who don't listen to instructions from us. So, I think I still have to try harder for the next two days to be more firm and instil discipline to the kids. Secondly, for the debriefing, I feel that when I was debriefing, some kids were distracted to the things that I had said because I think they liked games more rather than sitting down listening to me talking about the improtance of communications. I think I have to think of some ways to enable them to be more attentive during debriefing.

Learning sign language

For today in the morning, I went to Chang Clan General Association again for my sign language lessons. I had learnt a lot in using sign language to convey messages to others and now I had sort of quite used to it already although there were still many hand actions that I had not learnt. I was so happy that I had sort of mastered a song. That song was supposed to use sign language to "sing" the lyrics of this song. I arrived home at about 1pm and read some newspapers. That's all in the morning.

Learning Sign Language

Yesterday, I had defeated sort of the most powerful beast in the mountain campaign in Disciples II. I was so happy yesterday.
For today, I went to school to give the birthday present to a friend and then after that, I went to Chang Clan General Association which is near Kallang to learn sign language. So at there, I learnt sign language and sign language was quite difficult to master initially because I was not used to using my hands to convey messages to others. However, after several practices, I was quite adapted to it. Nevertheless, I still had to practise the actions that I had done this morning so that I would not forget them and besides that, I also had to memorise the lyrics of a song so that I could perform sign language to this song easily. The thingy ended at noon today and it was a long trip back home. I went home about 1 plus. After that, my mum and my little bro and my sister went to the Nursery near my house so as to register for classes next year for my little sister.

Playing games and slacked all day long.

It had been two days since I had written my blog. For yesterday, I went to school for maths peer tutoring programme till noon. After that, I went straight home to play computer games. In the afternoon, I went to Compass Point in Sengkang to play a birthday present for a friend. It took me quite a while to choose what thing should I buy to use as a birthday present. At around 4 plus, I arrived home and played computer games again. For disciples 2, I had completed at a rate of 1 scenario per day. That was actually quite slow as compared to my little bro. For today, there was also nothing much to do today except doing maths. For maths assignments, Soo Teng had counted the number of maths questions and u know wat, there are a total of 78 questions in the maths holidays assignments. Sigh!!! I think that I have to do some per day as if not, I may not complete them at the end of the holidays. For these two weeks after the character development programme which marks the start of holidays, I had forgotton about general paper. Sigh!!! I still had to work hard for general paper as that was my worst subject for all the six subjects that I was currently studying.
For dsiciples II, I was very curious and addicted to this game when I was trying to find out what actually happened when I had successfully completed in attacking the main capital of the town. Yesterday, I tried my best to "pump" my hero and units to the fullest potential and then I attacked the main capital of the undead. That battle was really long. Luckily, I had healing ointment with me which could heal a unit by 200 hitpoints. That item had actually caused me to win a battle which seemed impossible to win. My favourite unit Son Of Ymir was the actually the only unit left to fight with the guardian of the capital. It seemed impossible for me to win the battle. My unit Son Of Ymir had only 300 hitpoints left while the guardian of the capital had actually 500 hitpoints. Besides, the damage inflicted by the guardian of the capital was actually higher tham Son Of Ymir. However, I still won the battle. A miracle had happened yesterday. I was very happy to have won the battle. Yay!!

SLP arriving

It has been a time that I have not written in my blog entry. For yesterday, firstly I have maths peer tutoring in sch and then SLP up to 7pm. It had been a long day in sch for yesterday. As usual, I taught maths in the morning and taught about maths concept and theories. After that, I went home afterwards to have a rest and play Disciples II. Then I knew that my little bro had completed his empire campaign. Sigh, he played so fast leh. Now, he is currently playing the Legion Of the Damned Campaign. I could not compete with him in terms of games as he is more pro than me. After resting, I went to sch for SLP. We learnt to play new games and dances til 7pm. It was quite fun but I had forgotton some of the dance steps and moves. I am quite a slow learner and I learnt things quite slow.
Besides, for that day, I had received a present from Kat. I think that is the first present that I had ever received from a female friend. I feel so touched.
For today, there was nothing much to do except by doing a couple of maths questions. Sigh!!! I kept making careless mistakes here and there. I think that I had to brush up my maths again.

1 day fully used up

In the morning, my family went to Jurong East Swimming Complex to play the mini water theme park there. We arrived there at about ten o'clock and my cousins and my little bro and I play the lazy river. We swam about ten rounds in the river. It was such a new feeling to swim with strong currents in the river. When I attempted to swim against the current, I was just remaining stationary in the river. Sigh!!! Don't have enough force to create a resultant force to move against the current. Later, we played water slides. All of us played the blue one which the height is 57.7 metres tall. It was very fun as there were sharp twists and turns in the slides which made it very exciting. I almost overturned when I was in the blue water slide. Next, splashes of water were splashing in the wave pool and that signalled us that the waves were coming. So, we proceeded on to there to enjoy the strong water waves and to have sun-tanning. We played until about 12 o'clock until it rained. However, we continued playing in the rain for about half an hour. We splashed each other with water and have a water warfare where we utilised water as our weapons and power. That was so fun.
Next, we proceeded on to my aunt's house in Choa Chu Kang. We played games like Warcraft 3, Starcraft and so on. We also played board games like game of life and I kept losing in this game. Sigh!! I was quite unlucky on that day. Then, after that, I ate dinner. After that, I watched one of my cousins and my little bro playing playstation and they were competing in a race. My family left my aunt’s house at about 8 plus in the night.

For today, it is my birthday. In the morning, my family and I went to my grandma's house. My little bro and I had brought our new game "Disciples 2" along to play my uncle's computer. However, my uncle was reformatting the computer so as to increase the performance of the computer and to solve the lagging problem. Then, while waiting for the reformatting process to finish, another of my cousin had arrived and she brought dominoes with her. So, my little bro and I played with dominoes to make certain shapes and patterns. After about an hour, all 300 dominoes were used up but when we pushed the first domino, not all of them had fallen down. Nevertheless, that was a good experience for me. Besides that, my grandparents were also discussing about my father 50th birthday. Sigh. For that, my grandparents told my dad to buy a square shaped coffee cake and the cake must be big enough for 40 people. By right, my father should feel happy that he was going to celebrate his brithday soon but now, this had become a problem. So, after visiting my grandma's house, my family and I went to cake shops to search for cakes.

New game

Just today afternoon, I went out with my little bro to compass point to look out for new games in the market. Finally, one game just caught oth of our eyes and that game was entitled "Disciples II, Dark Prophecy" Wow, the title looks cool to me and the graphics is quite good and nice. Besides, there are four races in this game which make the game even more interesting. Furthermore, it is a turn-based strategy game which I like most because one such game can last me for about two years. I always feel that turn based strategy games are the best because one can enjoy playing not playing its campaigns, but also one can enjoy playing the skirmish games or play hotseat with other players. My bro and I were trying out the game just now and my little bro became quite used to playing this game now. He had completed the first quest in the first campaign while I was still lagging behind him. Nevertheless, I will continue to play this game some other day and to be adapted to the controls of this game "Disciples II, Dark Prophecy"

Dream - Omen????

I had a dream last night. It was about me being born in a family. I have a little brother and a little sister. Then, one day, my family and my relatives went to Jurong East Swimming Complex to play the mini water theme park there. I dreamt that I was the eldest and I had the responsibility to take care of my siblings and my cousins. However, after three hours, I was too engrossed in playing the water slides and the wave pool and I had actually forgotton the responsibility that I had. Then, I realised that I had no idea where my siblings and my cousins were. So, I went around finding for them in the swimming complex. My heart was thrumping very loudly as I was scared being scolded by my mum for being so irresponsible. I continued to search high and low for them and luckily for me, I found my brother and my sister and my cousins. Then, my mum called us to come and have a rest to eat some snacks before playing again. "Who is this kid?" my mum asked me. "I also don't know, "I started to feel frightened. I was not aware that there was another kid in the group. Then, suddenly, I remembered the case of Huang Na being kidnapped. I started to become more frightened.
Suddenly, I woke up from a dream. Phew, there was only a dream but I don't know whether that was an omen because on this Sunday, my relatives and my family are going to Jurong East Swimming Complex to play.

Reflections

For yesterday, I had mathematics peer tutoring programme at 9 am in LT2. This program is quite fun in the sense that I have the chance to teach others in maths and that to instil in others how maths can be very interesting. I was feeling quite exhausted yesterday after teaching the tutees for 3 hours. Besides, for many of us, our attention span is only about 2 hours and thus long hours of peer tutoring is not very effective as they may get distracted easily. However, I had learnt more about how to be patient and be clear in my expressions so that the tutees can comprehend what I was saying. Furthermore, the tutees that I had taught yesterday were from the arts class. That gave me a chance to interact with them and most of them have humour in them. It was a totally different feeling when I communicate witha science student and an art student.
For the SLP meeting yesterday, I have learnt the importance of team spirit and teamwork. I have learnt more about myself and others and that many people have their most wonderful and memorable experiences. From them, I learn to appreciate new things in life and I have more reasons why I am in this world today. Since young, I am been thinking about why I am in this world. I have been finding and discovering more reasons why I am living in this world today. Next, after hearing my classmates' experience, I know that I am actually quite fortunate to live in this wonderful family and have a close relationship with my brother and sister and also to have many wonderful people around me which makes me what I am today. Thanks to all of them.

Slacked whole day long

Today is another slacked day for me. I went out with Kun Jian to Wee Siang's house for swimming. I only swam 4 laps in the swimming pool and spent the rest of the time chatting with them. Initially, Kun Jian intends to have suntanning but he had forgotton to bring his banana sun lotion. lol. Then after that, Kun Jian and I went to Hougang Point to have KFC Fried Chicken. The meal cost about 5 dollars. My tongue is burning after I have eaten those chickens. After that, Kun Jian and I decided to have a visit to Jiaxing's house. However, he had just gone to Jurong East Swimming Complex to enjoy the mini water theme park there. So, we decided to go to my house. In my house, we just slacked for 2 hours doing nothing becuase my little bro was using the computer to play his favourite game Laxius Power 2. Sigh!!! Kun Jian and I had to wait.
After waiting for 2 hours, we could finally use the computer to do our own things. Kun Jian had taught me how to change my blogskins and how to add a tagboard into my blog. At half past 4 in the afternoon, we decided to go again to Jiaxing's house to visit him. At about 5 in the afternoon, the three of us went to Hougang Mall for shopping for games and other stuffs. One thing just caught my eye and that was the latest "Singapore Bus Drectory" With this book, my whole collection of buses routes and MRT routes are complete. Although there were not any games which attract me, I was quite happy when I saw the latest Singapore Bus Directory.
After that, I went home and had my dinner. I went to msn at about 10 plus and talked to diana about conflicts between siblings. I was quite an enriching discussion and I had actually learnt a lot from there.

Holidays

Yay, finally, it is now holidays. Holidays are coming. No sch for me. Yay. On Tuesday, I have physics spa. The physics spa really tests my application skills of the knowledge that I have learnt during the practical lessons. It comes out the oscillation of a test tube when it floats on water. Initially, I thought it is about the pendulum making the oscillation because the test tube is not elastic. However, after that, I suddenly have a feeling that this is about the same as the mass and spring system. I don't know whether my independent variables are correct or not. My main independent variable is the mass of the test tube. Initially, I thought of varying the mass of the test tube by using other five test tubes with different masses but later, an idea struck me that I just have to add mass of 50 grams into the test tube to change the mass of the test tube. Phew. I feel so relieved that that idea comes in the nick of time. I think that physics spa on tuesday is the only skill a report that I have done within an hour.
Besides that, after physics spa, I have a character development program and our classmates take part in it. This program enables the class to be more united in doing things. Our class plays a lot and really many games like blind drawing, knots, dumb checkers and so on. I have learnt about specific communications lol and teamwork and leadership. I feel that it is true that everyone of us has a leadership in one aspect. I feel that I can only lead others if I am very confident about the aspect that the group is leading but on that day, it rains heavily when our class is going to play water gams. So instead of playing water games, our class actually has to draw a class banner. The program ended quite late and George actually become sort of an idol on that day. lol. He can actually join Singapore's idol and he may become a second Willam Hunk. That leads to me thinking that everyone of us has actually talents possessed in us. I always believe that nature is always fair and just in giving humans and animals special abilities and specialities in aspects of life.
Next, today is a bit bored. For morning, I go to school to do some homework and after that I go to Lor 29 Geylang to scout around that area for Chang Clan Association. Finally, after about one hour of bus trip (13) to my destination and some couples of minutes of walking, I finally find what I want. It is a yellow building and the whole street seems very deserted even in the morning. I can't even imagine what is it like when it is in the night. Ghosts may appear there. lol.
After that, I play heroes 3 which is my favourite games. I have completed a single scenario map entitled "Battle of Existence" and I get the highest score ever achieved which is 321. Yay. Hip Hip Hooray. Now, for heroes 3, I am currently playing Tower.
In the night, I watch a movie entitled "Jurassic Park 3". Unlike other movies about dinosaurs, this time, when I watch this movie, I have thought of the main purpose of creating this movie. My brother and I have attempted to guess the message that the producer is trying to convey to the masses in this movie. I guess that the producer wants the masses to be aware of the impacts of cloning as pictures of how dinosaurs were cloned and later incubated. When I saw many bottles storing some parts of the dinosaur bones and genes, I have an undescribable feeling and I just feel that cloning is actually quite a scary thing and a scary technology. Humans are trying to play with god, to defy what nature has set the rules for humans. Sigh!!!!! Nevertheless, holidays are coming and my birthday is also coming. lol. So, happy holidays.

How for physics spa???

I am still in the holiday mood for now. Physics spa is now at the back of my mind. I think I have to change this mindset. My little bro has been scolded by my dad because he plays too much computer games and has forgotton to read his newspaper. He can just play computer games everyday up to four hours continuously. Sigh!!! Later, I will be going to my grandma's house and I will ask my uncle about the software thingy. The software thingy is about whether to install a firewall in my computer or buy an antivirus software to install in my com. I don't know which is better so I have to consult my uncle for his advices. So that's all folks and wish everyone a good sunday.

Playing heroes 3 all day

Today is a sort of a relax day for me. I have not even touched or studied about the physics spa assessment which is on Tuesday. Just rewarding a day off for me as I am soon to be busy in the days ahead with student learning project, character developing programme and sign language thingy and peer tutoring programme. Today, I am playing heroes 3 all day on the map battle of existence. I have spent hours playing this map but I still can't figure out where is the black keymaster's tent in the map. Sigh!!! Nevertheless, I possess the strongest army in the map. My hero manage to recruit a swarm of dread knights and vampire lords to join my hero's army without having to pay a fee. That's good for me as these greatly boosts my kingdom army strength.
Besdies, today I have also gone to Compass Point to look at some other games available on the market. I personally like strategy games but I don't want to waste my money on some games with poor graphics or unfairness in one of the races. Therefore, when I arrive at Compass Point Popular bookstore to see the computer games available, I choose the computer games carefully. However, for today, I have not bought any of the computer games as none of them looks appealing and attractive to me. Besides, many of the computer games displayed on the market are not known to me. So, I have to check them out on the internet to check the nature of those computer games so as to choose them wisely.
For today, for Heroes 3, I remember a battle with a swarm of azure dragons with my hero's army. Azure dragons are the most powerful creatures in the game and luckily, I have won the battle with them but I have forgotton to resurrect my power liches causing 55 of my power liches to perish in the battle. I have intended to resurrect all of them but due to a lack of spell points, I cannot do it. Sigh!!! However, I have sent reinforcements to be in my main hero's army. lol. The number of power liches that my hero has now has returned back to its original number.
Maybe it is due to nothing much to do in these few days, so I have spent many hours playing heroes 3. In addition, I have also bought a new book about developing one's slef confidence and public speaking skills and improving one's memory. I have attempted to read it and some of the strategies to be a good public speaker like for example, practise, have confidence in yourself are very essential and very useful. I have tried to inculate my interest in reading books so as to increase my knowledge. Hope that I can learn something in reading this book.

Chinese finally over.

Yay, Chinese examinations are finally over. Phew, I feel so relieved. For yesterday, I do qn 1 of the composition question about betrayal. I am very scared that my composition is not relevant to the question. Nevertheless, the chinese exams is over. Finally, I can play my most favourite game heroes 3. I just play necropolis, one of my favourite town to play. I just love to see dread knights doing double damage to the enemies as dread knights are one of the best creatures in heroes 3. The map Battle of Existence is quite a very challenging map as the monsters there are strong and the map requires good tactics in order to win the game. Keymaster tents are very crucial in winning the game. For yesterday, jun wen play gunvbound and he lost quite a lot of times because of some careless mistakes that he had made. Some couple of shots that he had fired missed the target but nevertheless, he is quite a pro gunbounder. That's all folks as my little bro is eagering to use the com.

Nervous about chinese exams tml

Tomorrow is the day when I have my chinese examinations in the hall. I am quite worried about it. For the past few days, I am wondering and guessing in the chinese composition exams, what questions they are going to come out. Besides, I have trying to search for more storylines so that I can use them in my chinese compositions. Today is a school day off for me as I have just finished my oral presentation for projec work. For today, I just study and do chinese for the whole day and I have taken some breaks after some hours of study and revising chinese for the examinations. So I shall end here and continue to study my chinese. I just feel very exhausted and tired now and feel like sleeping. But I think that with my chinese teacher's motivation, I think that I can do it in the chinese examinations.

Pw is finally over

Yay, finally, project work is over. After many days preparing the oral presentation, today is the final showdown, displaying our oral skills or also known as "talk corking" skill and how we are flexible in answering the questions posted by our accessors. For me, during the oral presentation, I am feeling quite nervous and for the questions and answer section, the question asked by Mrs. Wong was quite unexpected. She asked about appearances being important. Why is it that appearances has become very important in nowadays society? I just answer what I can think of it, talking about looks may translate into more confidence for the employers. Although capabilities is a more imprtant factor in looking for jobs, there is an increasing number of university graduates in Singapore. Hence, finding a job is very tough as many university graduates face tough competition from their peers. Thus, many people especially women who are vain feel that besides competing with academic qualifications, they must also compete at other aspects like looks. Looks are important to them as if one have good looks, they are looking more presentable and gives a good first impression to others.
I personally think that this project work oral presentation has strengthened our class bond as each of us encourage each other to maintain calm and composed in the presentation and perfrom one's best to score good grades. That is quite good in the sense that everyone clearly displays their selflessness in doing things and moreover, our class has become more united in doing things. For this project work oral presentation, I will like to thank the class 28/04 for encouraging me to overcome my nervousness in the presentation and also support me all the way. Thank u 28/04 and 28/04 is the best class ever.
However, after pw is over, it is time that I should revise chinese as it is only two days away. I feel that a level chinese is definitely more difficult than o level chinese but nevertheless, I will continue to study hard for this chinese a level examinations. Besides, yesterday, the ex chinese tuition teacher called me and asked whether I had revised chinese. That shows that she is concerned about my academic progress especially in chinese. Therefore, I should score well in chinese so as not to let her down in spending many hours of her precious time in teaching me chinese with passion. I think that's all for today.

Noob in Friendster

Yesterday is my first day that I just logged in to friendster. I am still a noob there as I don't know how to use some of the functions there. I attempt my very best to finish testmonials for ben and van and chin kai. Phew, finally, after a day of hard work, I have finished all the things. Now, I am doing project work. (finding background information of authors) This is hard work for me as it is not easy to find background information of authors. Nevertheless, I manage to find background information of two of the authors and have done two of the group's evaluation of reliability of information sources. Sigh. I still have to find background information of other authors.

28/04

Yesterday, when I went to one of my friend's house from my class 28/04 to do project work, I saw my friends watching the powerpoint slides prepared by a few classmates. Some parts of it was really funny. Our group is currently touching and polishing the powerpoint slides so that our slides are presentable to the accessors and moderators. For our class slides, some parts of it are teasing me but never mind as long as everyone who has seen it feels happy and laughs.

First Time

For today, it is quite a busy day and time passes quickly. From the morning, although there are boring maths lectures and some couple of boring lessons, after school, time seems to pass by quickly. I have spent about an hour and 10 minutes to do my chemistry practical homework. After that, I do my bibliography and my evaluations of the reliability of the articles. Next, my group went to hsueh yu's house to enhance on the powerpoint slides and the oral presentation. This is also my first time knowing how a webcam looks like. It is quite interesting playing with the webcam as our images can be seen by other friends and classmates to know what we are actually doing in hy's house. Time passes by extremely fast in hy's house and for dinner, I had japanese food. I just feel that the vegetables and the salmon is quite salty but other than that, the rest of the food is quite okay. The soup is actually delicious. After that, I went home at about quarter to ten, accompanying one of my friends to the MRT station before arriving home. Today is the first time that I arrive home late at night because of doing pw.

Op rehearsals over yay!!!

Finally, my op which stands for oral presentation of my project work is over. I feel so relieved and yet a bit nervous because the days for the actual oral presentation is coming soon and today, I am still feeling a bit nervous during the oral presentation. Besides, I have to study for chinese as the A levels for chinese exams are also coming near.
Besides that, I have done a wrong thing yesterday. I have left the computer switched on and I went to sleep without switching off the computer. I always have this habit of turning in without brushing my teeth or forgetting to do some things before going to sleep. I have to change this bad habit.

Diary

27th of October 2004
Tomorrow is another day of oral presentation. I just feel nervous when I think of it. That is the last practice of project work before the actual day of the examinations of project work oral presentation. The days before the actual exams are getting closer and closer each day. By the way, today is the first day that I am writing in blog spot.com. This is quite fun as one can express his or her emotions in the article and also enhances his or her use of language.
